Remove Standing Water
One of the easiest ways to reduce mosquitoes around your porch is to eliminate standing water. Mosquitoes lay their eggs in or near water, so even small amounts collecting around your yard can become a problem.
Check flowerpot saucers, buckets, birdbaths, toys, tarps, gutters, and other areas where rainwater may collect. The CDC recommends emptying, scrubbing, turning over, covering, or throwing away items that hold water at least once a week.

Be Smart About Outdoor Lighting
